The San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival, also known as SAS FEST, is a free, three-day event featuring an outstanding line-up of sixteen local, regional, and nationally known jazz artists, with an Arts & Crafts Fair, as well as delicious food and drinks, and we are now adding the 1st Annual San Antonio Summer Art & Jazz Festival Fajita Cook-off Competition. Developed from a passion for jazz music and through the promotion of great jazz music to all of San Antonio, all Texas, and the West Coast, SAS FEST helps to make this community a much better place for everyone. SAS FEST this year is host to 25 children from Meadowland Children’s Home. SAS FEST also takes the great music performed at our event here in San Antonio and takes it worldwide, from Australia to China and even to the Ukraine. SAS FEST also presents a humanitarian award every year to an individual who helped advance, improve, and promote the community of San Antonio. These individuals have been directly involved in the community and have devoted a portion of their lives to helping improve and make the world a much better place for others.

SAS FEST, this year, is host to 25 children from Meadowland Children’s Home. On Saturday morning, SAS FEST offers free art and craft classes to children, with special attention and focus to disadvantaged children in the community of Texas. Then, during the main evening performances, these children are honored and enjoy these concerts under a specially designated covered area. In addition, dinner, dessert, keepsake toys, and a miniature 2012 SAS FEST Poster will be given to each of these underprivileged children.
SAS FEST also works in partnership with KRTU 91.7-FM radio station. SAS FEST, with musical artist’s consent records live performances at our event. Selected portions are rebroadcast and later played on South Texas Jazz Project on Thursdays. SAS FEST takes the great music performed in San Antonio and takes it worldwide, from Australia to China to the Ukraine. SAS FEST takes San Antonio jazz global.
SAS FEST also presents a humanitarian award every year to an individual who helped advance, improve and promote the art and/or music industry and the community of San Antonio. This individual must have been directly involved in the community and have devoted a portion of their life to helping improve and make the world a much better place for others.
